Angeliki has been a qualified midwife since 2003. She has worked in the NHS for 15 years and has gained clinical experience from all areas of maternity services.

Angeliki completed her MSc in Midwifery in 2006, in Middlesex University, London. Following this, she successfully completed the Neonatal Resuscitation Course.

Her research interests are related to the public health agenda and midwifery implications because of health inequalities. Angeliki had the opportunity to volunteer in work that was related to refugee women and families in Athens, 2016.

Regardless of the place and setting of work, Angeliki aims to provide individualised care to the women and families that are under her care. She works in partnership with the women and facilitates care that is tailor to their needs. She has a special interest in providing fundamental midwifery care to all women, regardless of the risk status of the women.

She believes that evidence-based practice is the underlying factor for facilitating a positive experience for families. She has a special interest in the concept of examining the perception of risk, according to the evidence and applies this to each individual woman.

Angeliki started working in Higher Education in 2018. She is a Lecturer in Midwifery and is responsible for delivering teaching in pre-registration midwifery students.

She achieved the status of Fellow in Higher Education in 2023. She has been part of the team that leads the Baby Friendly Initiative (UNICEF) both in a clinical and academic setting. She has been working at the university since September 2023.

She is part of the International Collaborations Advisers Team for Health Sciences and provides an oversight of the academic and professional standards required for a pre-registration midwifery programme. Angeliki in currently engaging in research activities with international partners. As part of her role, she is the Lead Midwife for programmes within the Division, that includes midwives.
